Page 1. How To Reset The Water Filter Light Your refrigerator is equipped with a water filter indicator light. The indicator light is normally blue. The indicator light changes color after 6 months or approximately 400 gallons passes through the dispenser. It wil change to purple or red.

Note : If the indicator light changes, but ice production or water pressure from the dispenser are still working properly, there is no need to change the filter. If this is the case, you just need to reset the indicator light by pressing and holding the button with "Hold 3 sec for filter reset" on it.

Important : If the light is already off or blue the indicator light does not need to be reset. Beginning in 2010, the filter indicator light stays off until 6 months has passed, or 400 gallons of water have been dispensed. To reset the water filter indicator light, follow the steps below: Locate the button on your display panel with the words "Hold 3 sec for filter reset" printed on it.

Locate the Alarm button on the control panel. It is the middle button on the left side of the control panel.
Touch and hold the button until the indicator light goes out (approximately 5 seconds).

Resetting The Water Filter Indicator

If ice production and/or water pressure are normal, but the light is on, there is no need to change the filter.

Just keep in mind that when ice production and water pressure begin to slow, the filter needs to be changed.

To reset the water filter indicator light, perform the following:

1. Locate the Alarm button on the control panel. It is the middle button on the left side of the control panel.

2. Touch and hold the button until the indicator light goes out (approximately 5 seconds).
